Week 7

    My team was able to decide quickly how we should structure out video presentations and what information should be introduced. We began by creating an outline for each video and then randomized which parts each person would get. This is the fairest way on how to do things. We have been chatting on discord to figure out the topics and discuss how we each would take part in completing the presentations. I think for a small group of four, our ability to complete assignments and collaborate is well-done. For larger groups, it would be beneficial to have a structured hierarchy with leaders for different sections of a project. I can see how things could get out of hand if there was not a sort of checks and balance system to make sure everyone was contributing. 

    Based on presentation from previous cohorts and the rubric for the presentation, I think it is clear what is expected for the video presentations. It is key to have clear audio and visuals that follow what information is being presented. Since we were able to randomized and divide the work evenly, I think our presentation will show that we collaborated adequately on the project. I am only worried about captivating the audience because I don't think my voice is that great to listen to lol.
    After watching "The Turing test: Can a computer pass for a human?", it was interesting to see that although we may think of AI as being the smartest technology, even surpassing what humans may know, there are still ways in which they fail to pass off as human beings. The Turing test was may to see if AI could hold a conversation with a human and imitate how a human might respond to certain topics or language complexities. Simple pauses in a human's conversation may throw off AI and make it become confused. 
    The "Life After Death by Powerpoint" video was a great way to keep the audience's attention by making a funny presentation on what not to do with Powerpoints. The presentation essentially describes how a powerpoint should look including the font, shapes, animations and the size of all aspects of the information. From the Visuals Aids and Props reading, we learn that it is important to use graphics to supplement the information that is being presented but it should not distract from what is being taught. There should also be a limited amount of words on each slide since the speaker can expand on the main points of the presentation.

 This week we learned how to define graphs, how to calculate the greatest common divisor (GCD) using Euclid's algorithm, and algorithm analysis. Graphs are part of the data structure in computer science, defined by a set of vertices and a set of edges. Algorithm analysis helps determine the efficiency of an algorithm. This will indicate how fast an algorithm rune and the amount of memory is required by the algorithm.  One question I asked in discord was about resubmission for hw assignments that were graded before the due date. I asked if we had to notify the TA or professor when we resubmitted the assignment.

Week 1 - CST 438

 When the class was about to begin, I was expecting to learn some new coding concepts and methods using a particular language. I was expecting this to be one of the most difficult classes of the program. Although I am not saying this class is going to be a walk in the park, I am now seeing that Software Engineering is concerned more so with the overall complexities of creating and maintaining code, including how to work together with colleagues, how to plan what needs to be accomplished and the resources needed to reach those goals. I believe we will learn a lot more of the project management aspect of creating and maintaining code that will help us create expectations for our future endeavors.

Week 4

I hope to gain a better understanding of how programmers use logic to create software from the ground up. It will be exciting to see what I can create as the I move through the program and hope I will be able to help my peers if needed. My primary goal is to retain the information I learn as it will be crucial to entering the job market. I would also like to further my education beyond my bachelor's degree. This may be in Cyber Security or another area that can transfer into the criminal justice field.  For as long as I can remember, I have had a desire to work in law enforcement in a role that helps investigate crimes. Taking into account my limitations, I knew I had to be realistic of what role I could have investigating crimes. I would like to become a digital forensics analyst where I could have an exciting career with new challenges every day.
